Database Engineer (TS/SCI with FS Poly Required)

Position: Database Engineer (DBE)
Location: Laurel, MD
Clearance: TS/SCI with FSP Poly

DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a Database Engineer to provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. The DBE develops relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. The role also requires engineers to project long-range requirements for database administration and design. Other responsibilities include:

Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities
Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software
Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros, updates existing queries, and creates new ones to manipulate data
Assist in developing database structures that fit into the architecture of the system under development
Lead development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software
Develop requirement recommendations from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems)
Develop a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security, and domain controls

Required Experience

Five (5) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Experience with MariaDB or MongoDB, including: Deployment and management of the database itself, debugging of optimization issues and scaling.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Required Clearance

This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a Full-Scope (FS) polygraph.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 (Commensurate with experience)

Note: The above salary range is a guideline and represents a broad spectrum of potential compensation. We recognize that a candidate's unique experience and qualifications may justify compensation beyond this range. Therefore, we remain open to considering higher salary offers for exceptionally qualified candidates.
