Day Care Director

Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Day Care Director to lead our early childhood education center with passion and purpose. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children, and foster a collaborative team culture. Your leadership will inspire staff, engage families, and promote developmental growth for children across all age groups, from infants to preschoolers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives while managing a vibrant, dynamic daycare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support childhood development, early education principles, and social-emotional growth.
  • Supervise and support teaching staff, providing guidance on classroom management, behavior management, and caregiving best practices.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling, training sessions—including first aid certification—and ongoing professional development in areas such as special education and working with children with disabilities.
  • Oversee classroom environments to ensure they are engaging, safe, clean, and conducive to learning.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as enrollment processes, record keeping, compliance documentation, and reporting.
  • Conduct regular safety drills, monitor health protocols—including infant care and toddler care procedures—and respond promptly to emergencies or incidents.
  • Promote continuous improvement by evaluating program quality and implementing enhancements aligned with best practices in childhood development.
  • Advocate for the needs of children requiring additional support through specialized educational strategies or accommodations.

Experience
Candidates should possess substantial experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers or preschools. Prior classroom experience in toddler care, infant care, or preschool environments is essential. Demonstrated leadership in managing childcare teams or classroom staff is highly valued. A background in childhood development theories and practices—especially those related to behavior management—will support success in this role. Preferred qualifications include certifications in first aid and CPR; experience with special education or working with children with disabilities; knowledge of classroom management techniques; and familiarity with nannying or babysitting roles that involve caregiving for young children. Strong communication skills combined with a proactive approach to caregiving and teaching will help foster a positive environment for both children and staff. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to nurturing young minds while ensuring operational excellence within a licensed daycare setting.
