DAY CAREGIVER SUN-WED (HOURS VARY)

Job Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Caregiver specializing in long-term care and community support. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to residents and clients, helping them maintain independence and quality of life. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that each individual receives the highest standard of care in a safe, respectful environment. Whether working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care settings, your efforts will make a meaningful difference every day.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status accurately.
  • Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, employing behavior management techniques to promote safety and comfort.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring social interaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through light cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans aligned with each resident’s needs.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of caring for individuals with disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or memory impairments.
  • Certification or training in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or EMR systems are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with compassion and professionalism.
  • Experience operating mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or assisting with transfers safely.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
