Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, fostering independence and dignity
  • Support clients during group activities, outings, and community integration efforts to promote social engagement and skill development
  • Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall patient care in accordance with care plans
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
  • Use proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges
  • Document observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately while respecting HIPAA privacy regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs

Skills

  • Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living environments
  • Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care practices
  • Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are highly valued
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs when necessary
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
  • Compassionate attitude with patience for working with individuals experiencing autism or other special needs
  • Familiarity with medication administration procedures and documentation standards in long-term or home health settings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
