Daycare Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans that promote early childhood development, including preschool and toddler activities
  • Provide attentive infant and toddler care, ensuring safety, comfort, and emotional support for all children
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and play
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage social interaction, creativity, and motor skills development
  • Monitor children’s behavior using positive behavior management techniques and help foster respectful interactions among peers
  • Support special education needs by adapting activities to accommodate children with disabilities or additional learning requirements
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow all health and safety protocols diligently

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or similar settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain if not already certified
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is advantageous
  • Strong classroom management skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also independently supporting children's needs
  • Passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a positive learning environment
