Job Summary

Calling all teachers with hearts as big as the sun and passion as strong as a hurricane!
We’re seeking dedicated and compassionate childcare professionals to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children from infancy through preschool.

As a Caregiver at The Growing Patch, you will provide attentive care, implement age-appropriate curriculum, and support each child’s emotional, social, and developmental growth—all while maintaining positive communication with families and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Provide loving, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
• Implement engaging educational activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and growth.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care at all times.
• Foster positive classroom behavior through supportive and encouraging guidance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and child-safe classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents about their child’s progress and needs.
• Support children with special needs or disabilities through individualized care and inclusive practices.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and administration to create a cohesive, supportive teaching team.
• Observe, assess, and document children’s progress in alignment with daycare policies and curriculum standards.
• Respond promptly and calmly in emergencies, following DHS and center guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and developmental milestones.
• Registered as an Early Childhood Teacher with the Department of Human Services (preferred).
• Education Options (must meet one of the following):
• Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education (6+ months experience)
• CDA Credential (1+ year experience)
• 60 college credits + 16 ECE credits (1+ year experience)
• Bachelor’s in Elementary Education + 6 ECE credits (6+ months experience)
• Bachelor’s in any field + 12 ECE credits (6+ months experience)
• Familiarity with first aid practices; certification preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to make decisions that prioritize child safety and well-being.
• Emotionally stable, professional, and able to model positive behaviors for children.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, sitting, and standing.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and 40 pounds in case of emergency.
• Must be able to change diapers when necessary.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
