Daycare Cook/ Meal Prep and Floater / Assistant Teacher

THIS POSITION CAN BE FULL OR PART TIME. Cypress Kids Learning Center in Cypress (Northwest Houston) is searching for a kitchen aide/cook to complete the day-to-day food preparation (breakfast, snack, lunch) for enrolled children and related kitchen/pantry setup, cleanup, and upkeep. In addition, the individual will provide support as a floater teacher to assist in various classrooms at the childcare facility, as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support teachers and students during meal-time and in classroom as a floater teacher/ Teacher’s helper, as may be requested by Director
• Prepare meals/snacks for children based on daily menu provided by Director.
• Distribute food to the classrooms following appropriate health and safety guidelines, and policies.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and general cleanup and upkeep of kitchen and pantry.

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

1. Be 18 years of age or older

2. A high school diploma or equivalent

3. Pass a criminal background check

4. Be CPR or First Aid certified, or be willing to be come certified

5. At least two (2) years of prior experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility.

6. Must have flexibility in hours/schedule.
