Position Summary:
The Daycare Coordinator at Zion Lutheran School provides leadership and oversight for the school’s before and after school childcare program, serving children from Preschool through 4th Grade. This position ensures a safe, structured, and Christ-centered environment where children are cared for, supported, and engaged beyond the school day. The coordinator works closely with school leadership, staff, and families to maintain high-quality programming aligned with Zion’s mission.

Program Hours:
Monday–Friday, approximately 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM (before and after school care, with full-day coverage as needed)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the daycare program, including scheduling, staffing, and classroom coverage
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate daycare staff; provide ongoing guidance and training
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment that reflects Christian values and care
  • Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and ensure compliance with all state regulations and licensing requirements
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student needs, behaviors, and program updates
  • Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate activities for Preschool through 4th Grade students
  • Coordinate transitions between school day and daycare programming
  • Maintain accurate attendance records, student information, and incident documentation
  • Manage supplies and assist with budgeting and purchasing needs for the program
  • Address parent concerns in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner
  • Collaborate with the Principal and school staff to support student success and school-wide initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a daycare, childcare, or school setting required
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Alignment with the mission and values of Zion Lutheran School

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
