Job Overview

Duties

• Assist in supervising children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Support classroom teachers by helping with activities, mealtime, nap time, and diapering routines
• Step into different classrooms as needed to maintain consistent supervision and support staff during busy periods
• Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, and social interactions that promote development and curiosity
• Maintain a clean, organized environment by assisting with classroom sanitation and setup of educational materials
• Observe children’s behavior and developmental milestones to inform teachers and caregivers
• Follow all health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary

Skills

• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations using first aid skills
• Compassionate caregiving skills tailored to working with individuals with disabilities or special needs if applicable
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with children and families
• Flexibility to adapt to changing classroom needs and support multiple age groups seamlessly
