Daycare Floater / Assistant Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate young person for as a Daycare Floater/Assistant Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a desire to learn as a floater position assisting Lead Teachers as well as a genuine love for working with young children. As a Daycare Floater, you will be assisting the Lead Teachers in any and all necessary duties. This position will lead to an Assistant Teaching position as we will provide online training to become certified. The starting wage is $12-$14 per hour and will have strong possibilities for increase as experience and knowledge in this position grow!

Responsibilities:

• Help Lead and Assistant Teachers foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment for all children.
• Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and caregivers as needed.
• Help Lead and Assistant Teachers facilitate play-based learning activities that encourage exploration and creativity.
• Help Lead and Assistant Teachers manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the well-being of all children in care.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and daily activities.

Skills

• Willingness to learn early childhood education practices.
• Experience in preschool or daycare settings is highly desirable but NOT required.
• Ability to work effectively with children with disabilities or special needs.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR is a plus.
• Experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching young children are essential qualities for success in this role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
