Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with menu plans and dietary requirements
• Handle food with care, following strict food safety and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination
• Assist with menu planning to ensure balanced, nutritious options that cater to diverse dietary needs
• Serve meals to children in a friendly, efficient manner while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen area
• Support food handling procedures during meal preparation, storage, and cleanup to ensure compliance with health regulations
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate meal times and ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
• Maintain accurate records of food inventory, expiration dates, and cleaning schedules to uphold hygiene standards

Skills

• Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Strong food preparation and cooking skills, including knife skills and meal assembly techniques
• Knowledge of menu planning principles for young children or similar populations
• Experience in food service within a restaurant or catering environment is beneficial
• Familiarity with food safety practices, handling procedures, and sanitation standards in the food industry
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and support a positive dining atmosphere

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
