Overview
Little Lions Learning Center is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and dedicated Daycare Teacher to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for the children in our care, ranging from 6 months to 5 years old. Our ideal candidate is committed to the well-being and early development of young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Child Care and Supervision: Provide constant, active, and diligent supervision of children across the specified age groups to ensure their safety at all times.
- Meeting Basic Needs: Ensure the fundamental needs of all children are met, which includes feeding (preparing and distributing meals/snacks), assisting with or performing diaper changes/potting, and monitoring their hygiene.
- Nurturing Environment: Create a warm, welcoming, and secure classroom atmosphere where children feel comfortable and encouraged to explore and learn.
- Curriculum Implementation: Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. This includes leading age-appropriate activities, songs, and play.
- Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with parents regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any needs or concerns.
- Health and Safety: Adhere strictly to all Little Lions Learning Center and state licensing health and safety standards, including cleanliness, sanitization protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily records, including attendance, incident reports, and documentation related to feeding and nap schedules.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, especially in a licensed childcare or early education setting, with infants/toddlers (6 months to 2 years) and/or preschool age (3-5 years).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant coursework or certification in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Personal Attributes: Must be patient, reliable, energetic, flexible, and possess a genuine love for working with young children.
- Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a required comprehensive background check and fingerprinting.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, sit, and stand for extended periods.
- Required to interact with children on the floor and outdoors.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Base Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
