Growing Early Learning Center

Position: Daycare Opener / Early Morning Teacher
Schedule: Monday–Friday, arriving no later than 6:15 AM but could vary depending on company needs

About Us

We are a new and growing childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for young children. As we expand, we are looking for a reliable, caring, and proactive team member to help us create strong mornings and smooth transitions for children and staff.

Position Summary

The Daycare Opener plays a crucial role in setting the tone for each day. This position requires a dependable, punctual individual who can confidently prepare the center for opening, greet children and families, and support classroom routines.

Key Responsibilities

Morning Opening Duties

  • Arrive no later than 6:15 AM to ensure the center is fully ready for children who may arrive as early as 6:30 AM.
  • Conduct a Daily Grounds & Safety Checklist, including:
  • Walking the entire facility and outdoor playground to ensure all areas are safe, clean, and hazard-free.
  • Checking doors, gates, and equipment for proper function.
  • Set the AC/heater to the appropriate temperature to ensure a comfortable environment for children and staff.
  • Turn on lights, prepare classrooms, and ensure all opening procedures are completed before arrival time.

Classroom & Childcare Duties

  • Welcome children and families warmly each morning and assist with smooth drop-off transitions.
  • Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate, positive, and safe activities.
  • Follow daily lesson plans and assist in preparing materials when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized classroom and help set the tone for a positive learning environment.
  • Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff throughout the day.

General Teacher Duties

  • Support children’s physical, emotional, and social development through nurturing and structured guidance.
  • Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, and general care routines.
  • Document attendance and any necessary daily notes according to center guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive, supportive environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to maintain a high-quality childcare program.

Requirements

  • Punctuality and reliability are essential—must consistently arrive by 6:15 AM.
  • Prior childcare or teaching experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication, patience, and a love for working with young children.
