Daycare Teacher

Job Summary

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early literacy, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional development.
• Create a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management strategies.
• Engage children in activities that support classroom management, childhood development, and special education needs when applicable.
• Monitor and document each child's progress through assessments and standardized testing where appropriate, adjusting lesson plans to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, behavioral updates, and developmental milestones effectively.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment that complies with childcare regulations and promotes child welfare.
• Incorporate Montessori or other specialized teaching methods to enhance early intervention strategies and literacy education.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, including toddler care, preschool experience, and classroom management techniques.
• Experience in curriculum development tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education and early intervention programs.
• Proficiency in lesson planning, teaching physical education, tutoring, and working with students across various age groups.
• Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Ability to manage behavior positively while fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in early childhood settings.
• Knowledge of childcare standards, child welfare practices, and Montessori or similar educational philosophies. Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
