Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for children in your classroom
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and educational activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and respect among children
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan curriculum enhancements and share best practices in early childhood education
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral issues
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to nurture positive behavior and create an inclusive environment
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to handle physical activities involved in caring for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers—including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Passion for working with children and a genuine desire to support their growth and learning
