About DBTIMI
The DBT Institute of Michigan is a mental health clinical striving to teach its clients how to build a life worth living through effective use of evidence-based therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The co-owners Josh Smith and Diana Osborn opened the Institute with offices currently in Mason, Metro Detroit and Wyoming.

The Metro Detroit office is located in Southfield - We have recently moved our practice to this location and our looking to add to the team. We are currently offering outpatient services and will soon be offering IOP services at this location.

Position Description
Provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other Evidence-Based Treatments to adolescent and adult clients in our outpatient and IOP programs. Employee shall report to the Metro Detroit DBT Team Leader.

Essential Duties and Requirements
Employee shall conduct assessments, individual therapy sessions, IOP sessions, group sessions, after hour skills coaching sessions, treatment planning and family sessions as needed. This job also requires employee to attend weekly DBT Consultation Team meeting. Employee shall complete all related clinical documentation in a professional and timely manner. It is required for the employee to take part in program evaluation as well as to collect any outcome data the Institute uses on clients.

Ability to work in a fast paced, growing clinic as a team player. Professional and organizational abilities must be impeccable. Proficient with technology. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in writing and verbally.

Education/Experience and Other Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or PsyD/PhD in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an Accredited College/University
  • Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner or Professional Level
  • Has never had license suspended or revoked by any professional licensing board
  • Wiling to work one evenings to meet the needs of clients and their families
  • Prefer at least 40 hours of formal DBT Training
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in both in writing and verbally
  • Pass a background check as well as verification of professional license and malpractice insurance
