Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced DCS Operator to support Oil & Gas operations and projects in Qatar. The candidate must have strong experience in DCS operations, instrumentation systems, safety compliance, and coordination with field teams. Experience in NFE projects and commissioning/completion activities will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor DCS systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations
- Perform system monitoring, alarms handling, trend analysis, and reporting
- Coordinate with field operators, technicians, foremen, and supervisors
- Support commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and normal operations
- Participate in completion walkdowns, punch listing, and close-out activities
- Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, and Electrical Safety Rules
- Follow project HSE procedures and international standards
- Assist in troubleshooting instrumentation, control, and automation issues
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and shift handover documentation
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Technician Level: Minimum 2 years experience in the same position
- Foreman Level: Minimum 3 years experience (minimum 2 years in same role)
- Proven Oil & Gas industry experience
- Experience in Qatar or Gulf region preferred
- Computer literate (Windows tools)
- Good English communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously with geo-localisation knowledge
- Supervisory and reporting competencies
Safety & Compliance Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas safety standards
- Familiar with PTW & LOTO PTW processes
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- TI process awareness
- MSDS understanding
Engineering & Project Knowledge
- Preservation awareness and sensitivity
- Completion walkdown and punch list close-out experience
- Understanding of NFE CTCA procedures
- Strong knowledge of:
- P&IDs
- Isometrics
- Instrument layouts
- Loop diagrams & loop folders
- SLDs, wiring & cable diagrams
- Equipment data sheets & layouts
- General Arrangement drawings
- Cable schedules, ladders & tray routing
