Grace Auto Sales and Service is hiring an Automotive Accounting Office Manager / Controller to help lead and strengthen our dealership office and accounting operation.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with at least 5 years of dealership accounting experience who has worked in a franchise dealership environment and is ready to take ownership of the accounting office.

Compensation

Pay range: $96,000–$114,000 per year

Final compensation will depend on dealership accounting experience, DMS experience, leadership ability, and ability to own key accounting responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Leading and improving the dealership accounting office
  • Supporting and managing month-end close
  • Maintaining clean accounting schedules
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Reconciling floorplan
  • Reviewing and controlling contracts in transit
  • Reviewing and controlling deals in transit
  • Monitoring reserve schedules
  • Supporting title, DMV, and registration accounting flow
  • Reviewing deal accuracy and funding readiness
  • Managing AP, AR, general ledger, and balance sheet accuracy
  • Helping ownership understand cash flow, accounting issues, and office priorities
  • Creating stronger office processes and internal controls
  • Identifying accounting problems before they become expensive problems
  • Holding office and admin processes accountable
  • Working with software support when needed to resolve system or process issues
  • Helping train, support, and hold office/admin staff accountable

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive dealership accounting experience
  • Franchise dealership accounting experience
  • Experience working in a dealership accounting office required
  • Experience with month-end close required
  • Experience with accounting schedules and reconciliations required
  • Experience with contracts in transit, deals in transit, floorplan, titles, DMV, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations is required
  • Experience with dealership DMS/accounting systems is required

  • Experienced in dealership accounting

  • Comfortable leading office processes
  • Strong with follow-through and documentation

  • Able to solve problems instead of waiting for someone else to fix them
  • Comfortable holding people accountable
  • Comfortable learning systems and contacting software support when needed
  • Strong enough to protect the dealership from accounting mistakes, funding delays, title problems, and cash-flow surprises
  • Interested in improving processes, not just repeating old ones
