Dean's Associate, Student Success

Primary Function

Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a full-time dean's associate to provide office support for the dean of student success. This position is responsible for assisting with retention and student success initiatives, Title IX, and student disciplinary conduct. This position may be required to periodically work evenings and weekends, including orientation, registration, outreach events, retention initiatives and the annual commencement.

Essential Duties

The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.

  • Provides office and activities support for the dean of student success including preparing correspondence and reports, photocopying, scanning and filing paper and electronic correspondence and reports; generating mailings; reconciling the dean’s budget; monitoring grant budgets; monitoring department assessment entries into assessment system for Dean’s review; entering data, handling incoming telephone calls, making outbound calls, submitting timesheets and leave requests for student success student staff; scheduling appointments and meetings; taking meeting minutes; supporting retention efforts; assisting students; working on projects across multiple departments; and providing coverage for the student services reception desk and other student affairs areas, as needed
  • Collects and maintains records of Title IX, disciplinary actions and student affairs documents and prepares correspondence; tracks and summarizes the documents in the ERP, reporting and other systems; prepares information for disciplinary hearings; assists in the implementation of procedures related to student success initiatives; maintains college catalog revisions, college website, and college publications
  • Assists with student success and other activities across the division, and takes responsibility for special initiatives as directed, including supporting programs aimed at improving student success and engagement such as, but not limited to, orientation programs, retention workshops, success seminars, peer tutoring support, and engagement events
  • Prepares data reports related to student success metrics, including retention rates, graduation rates, and academic performance using established formats and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree in a relevant field
  • Four years of office experience (Bachelor's degree can be substituted for the four years of experience)
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent database, mathematical, organizational, human relations, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Preference will be given to applicants with bilingual English/Creole skills

Supplemental Information

This is a full-time support staff position with an excellent fringe benefits package. Days and hours of work at Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may be required to periodically work evenings and weekends, including orientation, registration, outreach events, retention initiatives and the annual commencement. The starting hourly rate will likely range from $25.33 to $31.10 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
