POP’s Debate program develops structured thinking, logical reasoning, and ethical argumentation. Students learn to construct arguments, analyze opposing viewpoints, and defend their ideas with clarity and precision.

Our debate curriculum emphasizes logical architecture, framework thinking, and philosophical reasoning. Students develop the ability to think critically and communicate effectively under pressure, developing essential skills for leadership in the modern world.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Debate Teacher to join our online teaching team. You will teach small-group and one-on-one classes to students around the world, guiding them through argument construction, structured debates, and competitive preparation. This is a new program, so the ideal candidate would be excited about building/developing the program, structure, and curriculum.

This is a remote, part-time position with flexible scheduling and long-term growth potential.

What You Will Do

• Teach live online debate classes using Zoom
• Teach structured argumentation using Claim–Evidence–Reasoning frameworks
• Guide students in constructing logical arguments and rebuttals
• Lead structured debate simulations
• Teach debate strategy and clash management
• Help students analyze multiple perspectives
• Provide feedback on argumentation and reasoning
• Assign and assess debate preparation work
• Track student progress and development
• Communicate with students and parents when needed
• Collaborate with POP’s academic team to continuously improve curriculum and teaching quality

• World Schools Debate
• Ethical Debate
• Public Issue Debate

Who We’re Looking ForRequired

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field
• At least 2 years of teaching, tutoring, or debate experience
• Strong logical reasoning skills
• Comfortable teaching online and keeping students engaged
• Ability to explain complex ideas clearly
• Passion for critical thinking and argumentation
• Experience developing courses, materials, and curriculum
• Ability to take initiative, demonstrate reliability, and contribute to the growth of the program and company

Preferred

• Master’s degree in a related field
• Competitive debate experience
• Debate coaching experience
• Experience teaching argumentative writing
• Experience preparing students for competitions
• Experience working with international students
• Experience working with middle or high school students
• Experience working with international students

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation based on number of students and teaching load, starting at $80 per 90-minute class, and includes the following:
• Creating your lessons/materials, teaching weekly live class, sending weekly summary email, giving feedback on homework and assignments, attending monthly team meetings
