Work Model: Hybrid (One day/week after 90 days)
Responsibilities:
- Summarize legal documents
- Ability to perform legal research
- Ability to prepare drafts of initial pleadings, discovery documents, motions, briefs, and other legal correspondence relating to litigation
- Check legal forms for accuracy
- Organize case research, notes and legal documents
- Gather and analyze research data
- Perform related work as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communication and writing skills
- Candidates should have an enthusiastic team player attitude and a high work ethic
- Proficient in legal research
- Ability to interact at a professional level with clients and attorneys
- Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule
- In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles
- Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy
- Knowledge of e-discovery tools is preferred
- Trial prep and/or trial experience is required
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate are required
- A minimum of five years of defense litigation paralegal experience in the areas of premises liability, products liability, construction and/or commercial litigation
