Deli Department Team Member

We’re excited to open the position for Deli Department Team Member at our family-owned Grocery Outlet in Mountlake Terrace. We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented team member to work in one of our most important departments!

Important Note:
At Grocery Outlet, our Deli Department is not traditional—there are no prepared foods, no kitchen work, and no slicing or cooking. This role focuses entirely on managing packaged deli, dairy and meat items, including ordering, stocking, rotation, and pricing. Key Responsibilities:

Customer Experience

  • Provide friendly, fair, and helpful customer service
  • Support a clean, well-stocked department that’s easy to shop

Department Operations

  • Ensure shelves are fresh, full, and faced daily—especially before opening
  • Rotate product consistently and check for freshness and expiration dates
  • Stock and organize shelves with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain an inviting and clean department presentation throughout the day

Inventory & Ordering

  • Oversee ordering and inventory for packaged deli items (no food prep involved)
  • Prep and manage back stock to ensure freshness and avoid overstock
  • Monitor slow-moving items and take proactive markdown action
  • Coordinate closely with store ownership and review SKU counts regularly
  • Stay on top of ad items, upcoming price changes, and delivery planning

Pricing & Integrity

  • Execute accurate price changes using handheld systems
  • Ensure all products are clearly and correctly signed
  • Monitor inventory movement and sales to inform ordering decisions
  • Maintain code date compliance according to store policy

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Previous grocery or retail experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and communication
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Familiarity with basic inventory and order systems is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
