Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service at the deli meat counter.
• Assist customers in selecting meats, cheeses, and other deli products while offering product knowledge and upselling suggestions.
• Prepare and package deli meats according to store standards, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS accurately for cash handling and sales transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli counter area, including sanitizing surfaces and managing waste disposal.
• Manage inventory levels, restock products as needed, and monitor expiration dates to ensure freshness.
• Support food safety protocols by adhering to sanitation standards, proper food storage practices, and health regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, grocery retail, or quick service restaurants is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key!
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate measurement of ingredients.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Culinary experience or kitchen background is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn about deli products is essential.
