Duties

• Prepare and assemble a variety of deli and bakery items, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently
• Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and promote upselling opportunities to enhance sales
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food preparation areas in compliance with food safety regulations
• Restock shelves, display cases, and bakery counters to ensure products are appealing and available
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
• Support food handling procedures, including packaging, labeling, and rotating stock to minimize waste

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments such as grocery stores or quick service restaurants
• Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for smooth transaction processing
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
• Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
• Experience in bakery or deli operations is preferred but not required; culinary experience is a plus
