Regalis Foods is one of the country's leading specialty food purveyors to the fine dining industry. We supply chefs and culinary teams at many of the most respected restaurants, hotels, and clubs in America with a curated portfolio across Caviar, Truffles & Foraged Mushrooms, Domestic & International Wagyu, Heritage Pork & Poultry, Seafood, Cheese, and an extensive pantry program of conservas, oils, vinegars, and other imported specialty products. Headquartered in Brooklyn with branches in Chicago and Texas, we're one of the fastest-growing specialty food companies in the country.
The Role
This is a delivery and dispatch role with a clear path into sales. The core of your day-to-day will be behind the wheel of a company vehicle, making deliveries to our chef customers across Chicago. You'll be the face & frontlines of Regalis in our customers' kitchens, the link between our warehouse and the chefs we serve, and a key voice in how dispatch and routing actually run on the ground.
Over time, as you build product knowledge and chef relationships through daily customer contact, you'll have the opportunity to take on accounts of your own and transition into a full Sales Representative role. This is a career path designed for someone with kitchen experience who wants to move into specialty food sales - and is willing to put in time on the road to get there.
What you'll do
- Make daily deliveries to chef-driven restaurant, hotel, and club accounts across the Chicago territory in a company vehicle
- Serve as the in-person face of Regalis at every drop - building rapport with chefs, sous chefs, and receiving teams
- Coordinate with the warehouse, routing, and other drivers throughout the day to keep deliveries on schedule and solve problems in real time
- Communicate proactively with chefs and receivers on delivery timing, substitutions, and on-the-fly adjustments
- Support dispatch operations from the field - flag account issues, opportunities, and feedback back to the branch
- Build deep product knowledge across our full catalog through hands-on exposure and ongoing training
- Identify account-level opportunities - new items to introduce, service issues to solve, relationships to deepen - and partner with the sales team on follow-through
- Progressively take ownership of a small book of accounts as you grow into the sales track
What we're looking for
- Kitchen background required - line cook, sous chef, expediter, or similar restaurant experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
- Comfort spending the majority of your day behind the wheel, on your feet making drops, and moving product in and out of a vehicle
- Genuine ambition to transition into a sales role and build a career in specialty food
- Calm under pressure - you've worked a Saturday night service, this will feel familiar
- Strong communication skills, especially with chefs and kitchen teams
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn our systems (ERP, routing software, etc.)
- Strong organizational habits and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly and handle cold/frozen product
- Working knowledge of the Chicago restaurant scene is a major plus
- Familiarity with specialty ingredients -caviar, truffles, wagyu, heritage proteins, seafood, cheese - is a bonus
