Who You Are:

You enjoy the fast-paced world of dispatching for a local courier service serving the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. You enjoy speaking to customers on the phone and by email and handling delivery logistics while supporting our team of four delivery drivers working throughout the valley.

You thrive under pressure, able to stay calm and focused on one step at a time as you help align customer requests with our team’s capabilities. You are computer savvy and a quick learner, able to work across multiple platforms to track all deliveries and incoming orders.

You are detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently without rushing or skipping steps in processes that are integral to the team’s success. And when you need help, you’re not afraid to ask.

And you’re not afraid of change. As the company migrates from an outdated dispatching software to a new, modern system, you help long-time customers who are accustomed to placing orders by phone learn how to do so in their new online accounts instead.

This role is best suited to someone with at least 1- 2 years of dispatching experience. We will train you on how to use our dispatching software.

Responsibilities:

  • Process new orders via text, phone, email and online form; enter into dispatching software
  • Use the dispatching software to design optimal delivery routes for drivers
  • Support delivery drivers in the field when they need help finding a delivery location, use their dispatching apps for delivery tracking, etc.
  • Assist in setting up new dispatching software and preparing for the transition to a more modern dispatch system.
  • Customer service: answer phone calls and emails from customers for delivery updates and schedules
  • Help customers adapt to the new online ordering system when it launches (with the goal of reducing the quantity of phone calls and manual entering of orders).
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed when call volumes are low (usually late afternoon).
