Delivery Driver

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves driving responsibilities, ensuring the efficient handling and transportation of goods. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with safety regulations, and the ability to operate various types of equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Physically loading goods onto the delivery vehicle and unloading them at the customer's location.
• Adhering to designated routes and schedules to deliver packages efficiently.
• Ensuring packages are delivered in good condition and verifying receipt of delivery with the customer.
• Identifying efficient routes and adjusting as needed to avoid delays.
• Interacting professionally with customers, providing information, and addressing concerns.
• Maintaining accurate delivery records, such as mileage, deliveries made, and any issues encountered.
• Performing basic vehicle checks, reporting necessary repairs, and maintaining the vehicle's cleanliness.
• Communication: Communicating with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth delivery operations.
• Problem Solving: Addressing issues that arise during the delivery process, such as incorrect addresses, damaged packages, or customer complaints.
• Physical Demands: Lifting and carrying packages, and potentially handling heavy or bulky items.
• Building crates and pallets.
• Preparing loads for shipment, by stacking, counting, wrapping, strapping and otherwise packaging as required to ensure safe and undamaged shipments.
• Local delivery and pickup of completed orders/materials to customers and vendors.

Qualifications:

• Operate manual transmission required
• Operate forklift and pallet jack
• Read and understand work orders
• Detailed oriented, self-motivated.
• 2-3 years of delivery driving experience, preferably within the DFW Metroplex.
• CDL preferred not required
• Clean driving record, must be able to meet insurance company approval.
• Ability to read and comprehend maps and verbal directions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends as needed for the position.

• 8 - 10-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
