Delivery Driver

Overview
We are seeking a reliable Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods between our warehouse and customer locations. This position is responsible for making deliveries to clients on the Northshore, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Northern Louisiana. Our North Louisiana delivery route, which is one of the delivery routes we are hiring for, requires an overnight stay on Thursday nights. The role requires a strong focus on customer service and efficient delivery operations.

Duties:

• Utilize all safety procedures designed by the company to ensure the safe delivery of goods, from loading vehicles through returning to the warehouse
• Load and unload items from trucks and vans by hand
• Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and manual transmission vehicles
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to meet customer expectations
• Communicate with warehouse team when service is disrupted to ensure problems or issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
• Keep accurate and organized trip logs
• Provide excellent customer service during delivery interactions
• Assist in the maintenance of company vehicles including routine cleaning

Experience:

• High school diploma and 1 year of related experience required
• Familiarity with commercial driving practices and regulations
• Ability to physically load and unload goods efficiently
• Prior experience in courier services or delivery operations is a plus

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, and get in and out of vans and trucks.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• This position will spend some time in a warehouse environment and some time in a delivery vehicle with exposure to outdoor elements.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Must have valid driver’s license and clean MVR
• Must be qualified to drive a full size delivery van, box truck, forklift, and operate an electric pallet jack
• Must be an ethical/trustworthy individual who is good at time management
• Employment is contingent on the applicant’s ability to pass a pre- employment drug screen, physical and MVR.
