Delivery Driver for 7.5 tonne

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver specialised in operating 7.5 tonne vehicles within a fast pace environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to various locations, maintaining excellent customer service standards. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics team, contributing to the efficient distribution of products across designated routes. Also, be able to work with a designated Porter, as this is a 2-man job.

Duties

• Safely operate a 7.5 tonne lorry to deliver goods to customers and clients in a timely manner
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
• Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
• Adhere strictly to all road safety laws and company policies during driving operations

Requirements

• Valid Category C1 (7.5 tonne) driving licence with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with experience in commercial driving environments
• Knowledge of lorry operation and securing loads appropriately
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
• Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long periods of driving
