Delivery Driver - In Town/Out of Town

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Warehouse & Delivery Staff

Summary:

This position consists of delivery and installation of high-end home furnishings within a custom interior design and home furnishing business. You will make in town deliveries daily, out of town deliveries monthly. Must have or obtain DOT Medical Card and be able to travel out of town for several days at a time during our busiest season. M-F 8am to 5pm with occasional overtime and overnight trips. MUST be able to arrive by 8am every day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following -

· Delivery Preparation - Prepare for client deliveries ensuring all merchandise has proper paperwork, client and designer requirements are properly understood, and furnishings are free of damage

· Load – Ensure the proper loading of delivery vehicle with all furnishings and necessary installation supplies

· Driver – Must be able to safely drive a 26 foot box truck.

· Installation – Delivery and set-up of furniture per floor plan and direction of Interior Designer. Hanging artwork, mirrors, etc. ensuring items are clean and client is satisfied upon completion.

· Inventory - Assist with bi-annual inventory

· Fleet Vehicle Maintenance – ensure that vehicles are cleaned inside and out and maintained with proper supplies

· Receiving – Assist with receiving, opening, inspecting, photographing, logging and warehousing incoming merchandise both from vendor as well as returns from clients’ homes

· Repair - Coordination of damage to stock and repair claims to resolution working with vendor and/or repair service as required

· Shipping – Assist with the arrangement of shipments to include packing and tracking

· Warehouse Maintenance - Assist with the maintenance and organization of warehouse and dock to include inventory and store supplies and equipment. Ensure warehouse, dock and storage areas are clean, organized and maintained with proper supplies

· Waste Management - Ensure regular disposal of warehouse and store trash, both inside and around the outside of the building

· Other duties as assigned

· Experience or aptitude with handling, lifting, and maneuvering, heavy high-end merchandise

· Experience and skill with using hand and power tools

Education/Experience:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

· 1 year furniture moving experience, 1 year box truck driving experience

· Must have own means of reliable transportation
