Delivery Driver Trainee - Company Paid CDL

SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a safe, professional, and effective CDL-A delivery driver. This position is designed for individuals completing CDL training and gaining hands-on experience with delivery operations, customer service, route execution, and merchandising standards. The individual will be expected to learn and perform all aspects of the delivery process, operate company equipment safely, and represent the company in a professional and customer-focused manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a safe, professional, and effective CDL-A delivery driver Is familiar with and certified to use all types of delivery equipment, including pallet jacks, docks and dock-levelers, trucks and trailers per company and OSHA standards.
  • Learn how to professionally deliver stops in all areas and departments to ensure flexibility.
  • Learn how to prepare invoices, collect payments from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.
  • Listen to and resolve service complaints.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a friendly, working relationship with the Manager on each account on all routes in assigned area
  • Confer with Delivery Supervisors to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in your market, and potential overage situations
  • Check in product with Store Manager, following store policy.
  • Restock cold boxes, displays, shelves and other areas where products are available for sale.
  • Responsible for keeping back stock, cold box and displays rotated and in a clean and organized manner
  • Adhere to company account and merchandising standards in all accounts.
  • Responsible for adhering to Overage Beer Policy
  • Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving policy.
  • Attending all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.
  • Adhere to dress code, including safety non-negotiables,” and be properly groomed.
  • Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
Duties require the ability to read, write and understand simple instructions. Requires an understanding of basic math, accuracy in checking, sorting, counting, and other routine procedures. A high school education is not required but would provide the basic skills necessary to learn the job.

Requires the ability to perform arithmetic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division including decimals and fractions.

A job description, by its nature, cannot include every aspect of the job. Because of this, any function that would reasonably fall under the responsibility of the Delivery Trainee is assumed and it is expected that the Delivery Trainee will act accordingly. The Delivery Trainee will be expected to perform any other task not included in this job description requested by management.

Minimum Qualifications
A candidate who does not meet the following minimum qualification will not be considered for this position.

  • A high school education is not required but would provide the basic skills necessary to learn the job.

  • Internal candidates must have a recommendation from their manager or department head.
