Job Overview
The Delivery Lead is responsible for overseeing all cannabis delivery operations, including the direct supervision of delivery drivers and dispatchers. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant order fulfillment while maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and regulatory adherence. In addition to daily operations, the Delivery Lead partners with senior management to identify opportunities for growth, scalability, and continuous improvement within the delivery department.
Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Operations
- Oversee daily cannabis delivery operations, ensuring orders are dispatched and delivered accurately and on time
- Coordinate delivery schedules, routes, and driver assignments in collaboration with dispatch staff
- Monitor delivery progress and resolve issues such as delays, returns, or customer concerns
- Ensure all deliveries comply with state cannabis regulations, company policies, and security protocols
- Verify delivery documentation, manifests, and chain-of-custody records
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Directly supervise and support delivery drivers and dispatchers
- Provide daily guidance, coaching, and performance feedback
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of delivery staff
- Enforce safety standards, attendance policies, and operational procedures
- Serve as the escalation point for incidents, violations, or operational issues
Dispatch & Logistics Oversight
- Ensure dispatchers are effectively coordinating routes, driver communication, and delivery timelines
- Optimize routes to improve efficiency, reduce delivery times, and manage labor costs
- Monitor vehicle usage, mileage, and driver productivity
- Upkeep on vehicle maintenance logs
- Review driver habits on Raven systems, and Onfleet reports
- Coordinate with fulfillment and retail teams to ensure accurate handoff of orders
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all drivers maintain required licenses, permits, and certifications
- Enforce cannabis transportation laws, vehicle security requirements, and safety protocols
- Conduct or support audits of delivery records and logs
- Report incidents, discrepancies, or compliance concerns to management immediately
Strategic Growth & Collaboration
- Partner with senior management to identify opportunities to grow and scale the delivery department
- Provide operational insights, performance data, and recommendations to support expansion initiatives
- Assist in developing and refining delivery strategies, staffing models, and routing efficiencies
- Support the rollout of new delivery services, tools, or process improvements
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and capacity planning discussions related to delivery operations
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- 2–4 years of experience in delivery, logistics, or transportation operations
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience (required)
- Experience in a regulated industry (cannabis, pharmacy, medical, or alcohol preferred)
- Familiarity with routing, dispatch, or delivery management systems (preferred)

Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass required background checks and cannabis compliance screenings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
