Delivery Route Assistant

Position Overview:
The Delivery Route Assistant (Seasonal) plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient deliveries of packaged ice. This position works directly with the CDL Delivery Driver and is responsible for unloading pallets, assisting with product placement, and maintaining cleanliness and professionalism at each delivery site. The assistant also provides morning support in the warehouse to help organize pallets before departure. This role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Delivery Support at Customer Locations

• Operate pallet jack to unload ice pallets and position them accurately at customer locations.
• Assist driver in organizing deliveries and communicating with store personnel.
• Clean up any trash, plastic wrap, or debris after each delivery.
• Ensure lift gate operation is safe, and that it is closed and secured before departure.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper placement of safety cones.

Warehouse Assistance

• Help stack and organize pallets during truck loading.
• Confirm that correct ice products and pallet counts match delivery schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organized loading area before departure.

General Support & Teamwork

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with driver and customers.
• Assist wherever needed to ensure efficient and timely delivery.
• Follow all company safety procedures and represent the company professionally.

Job Expectations:

• Work in cold environments such as freezers and ice storage areas.
• Perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Safely operate equipment such as pallet jacks and lift gates.
• Keep work areas clean, both in the warehouse and at customer sites.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Additional Duties & Role Flexibility:
All employees may be asked to assist in other departments as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, production support, warehouse operations, and other logistics tasks. Flexibility and a team-oriented attitude are essential.

Seasonal Position:
This role is seasonal and follows the peak ice demand periods. Employment duration may vary based on company needs and seasonal workload.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
