Position Overview:
The Demand Specialist is responsible for preparing, drafting, and finalizing comprehensive settlement demand packages on behalf of personal injury clients. This role involves gathering and analyzing medical records, billing statements, accident documentation, and liability evidence to create persuasive, well-supported demand letters to insurance carriers, defense counsel, and other third parties. The Demand Specialist ensures accuracy, clarity, and legal compliance while conveying the full extent of the claimant’s injuries, damages, and treatment history.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft Detailed Demand Letters: Prepare thorough and compelling written demand packages that include factual summaries, injury descriptions, treatment timelines, and damages calculations.
  • Medical Record Review: Obtain, organize, and review medical records and billing statements to accurately summarize diagnoses, treatment progress, and future medical care needs.
  • Evidence Evaluation: Analyze police reports, witness statements, photographs, video evidence, property damage records, and expert findings to support liability and damages.
  • Damages Calculation: Prepare medical specials spreadsheets, wage loss calculations, and other economic impact assessments; identify and articulate non-economic damages.
  • Client Communication: Conduct client interviews to understand injury impacts, quality-of-life changes, pain and suffering elements, and future prognosis.
  • Insurance Carrier Coordination: Submit demands to insurance adjusters, track responses, and assist in negotiation follow-up with attorneys.
  • Case File Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date case files; ensure all supporting documentation is included in demand packages.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys, case managers, and medical records staff to ensure all case information is complete and accurate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in personal injury law, claims handling, insurance liability, medical summary writing, or related field.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft persuasive, professional legal/insurance correspondence.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, treatment pathways, and common personal injury claim structures.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize large volumes of records into concise written summaries.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, calculations, and documentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and case management software systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a personal injury law firm or insurance claims department.
  • Prior plaintiff-side settlement negotiations or demand drafting experience.
  • Bilingual fluency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
