Job Summary:
The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with hotel standards. The role supports the Chef de Partie in daily operations, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and smooth workflow in the assigned kitchen section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting food items according to hotel recipes and standards.
- Support the Chef de Partie in managing the assigned kitchen section.
- Ensure all food items are prepared on time and meet quality requirements.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures in accordance with HACCP standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies properly.
- Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
- Help minimize food waste and ensure proper portion control.
- Support in training and guiding Commis Chefs when needed.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak times.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and kitchen SOPs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a hotel environment.
- Good knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation.
- Understanding of hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for culinary work.
