We are seeking a motivated and skilled Demi Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team at Gastronomy Cafe.

This role is ideal for an individual looking to grow their career in professional pastry and bakery operations. The successful candidate will support the Pastry Chef in creating high-quality desserts, breads, and other sweet items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production: Assist in the preparation, and productionof all pastry items, including cakes, tarts, cookies, chocolates, ice creams, and plated desserts.
  • Mise en Place: Complete all necessary preparation tasks efficiently, such as scaling ingredients, proofing dough, mixing batters, and basic decorating.
  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency as set by the Pastry Chef.
  • Hygiene & Safety: Adhere strictly to all standard operating procedures, including food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations within the pastry station.
  • Inventory: Assist with organizing and rotating stock, minimizing waste, and notifying the Pastry Chef of necessary supplies.
  • Collaboration: Support the wider kitchen team as needed during service periods.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Proven experience (6 months to 2 years, depending on the role level) in a professional pastry environment.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of pastry techniques, kitchen equipment, and scaling/measuring.
  • Attitude: Passion for pastry, strong work ethic, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Physical: Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy weights.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR2,500.00 - QAR4,000.00 per month
