Demolition Laborer

Job Summary
Join our dynamic construction team as a Demolition Laborer and be at the forefront of transforming spaces! Duties

  • Assist with the demolition of buildings, structures, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
  • Remove debris, hazardous materials, and recyclable materials from job sites efficiently and responsibly
  • Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers or mini excavators under supervision to facilitate demolition tasks
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to understand project scope and specific demolition requirements
  • Support with site preparation activities including setting up safety barriers, scaffolding, and securing work areas
  • Collaborate with construction management teams to coordinate demolition schedules and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Assist in the restoration of sites post-demolition by preparing surfaces for new construction or finishing work such as concrete forming or masonry

Experience

  • Prior experience working on construction sites, particularly in demolition or related roles, is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to demolition projects
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and safety equipment usage
  • Knowledge of construction management practices including site inspection procedures and construction estimating basics
  • Skills in various trades such as carpentry (frame carpentry, door hanging), masonry (concrete finishing, bricklaying), roofing, plastering, or welding are advantageous
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a proactive approach to safety and efficiency
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding tasks in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
