Responsibilities
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to demolish structures according to project specifications.
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and organizing materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand demolition scope and procedures.
- Support other trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and concrete finishing as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Assist in the removal and disposal of demolition debris, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with supervisors on project timelines, site inspections, and quality control measures.
Skills
- Experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction plans.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery operation.
- Knowledge of construction management principles and construction estimating processes.
- Familiarity with various trades such as carpentry (including trim carpentry and door hanging), masonry (including concrete forming), roofing, plastering, stucco application, glazing (glass installation), cabinet installation, flooring installation (tile laying), welding, restoration work, hardscape installation, caulking, framing carpentry, drywall finishing, painting, masonry work, fabrication techniques, and tile setting.
- Ability to read construction drawings accurately and follow detailed instructions.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to demolition activities.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to support multiple trades on-site.
- Basic knowledge of construction inspection processes and construction site protocols.
