Dental Anesthesiologist (Part-Time – 2 Days/Week)
Lancaster, Pennsylvania (Multi-Specialty Dental practice)
Primary Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Pre-operative Evaluation
Evaluate each patient’s medical and dental history, identify allergies, anesthesia risks, and determine the appropriate anesthesia approach—whether local, sedation (conscious or deep), or general—for dental procedures. -
Anesthesia Administration & Monitoring
Administer anesthesia—local, regional, sedation, or general—as needed. Monitor vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, respiration) using advanced equipment, ensuring patient safety throughout. -
Airway Management & Safety Interventions
Manage the airway proactively, including use of intubation during surgery when needed. Use specialized monitoring tools and adhere to safety protocols to mitigate risks. -
Collaboration with Dental Team
Work closely with dentists and surgical staff during procedures, ensuring coordinated care and seamless communication throughout the patient’s anesthetic experience. -
Post-Anesthesia Care & Recovery
Oversee the patient’s emergence from anesthesia, manage common post-operative needs (e.g., nausea, drowsiness), and ensure a safe recovery and discharge. -
Emergency Preparedness
Be equipped to recognize and manage anesthesia-related complications, including resuscitation if necessary.
Requirements:
- Dental Degree: D.D.S. or D.M.D.

Residency: Completed a CODA-accredited postdoctoral anesthesiology residency

Board Certification: Eligible for or certified by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology (ADBA)

Licensure: Active dental license in Pennsylvania and any office-based anesthesia permits required by state regulations.
