As Dental Assistant you will work closely with dentists and dental hygienists to provide comprehensive support in delivering quality dental care to patients. You are responsible for preparing treatment rooms, assisting during dental procedures, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring a comfortable and clean environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Chairside Assisting:
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines.
- Hand instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures.
- Suction and retract tissue to maintain a clear operating field.
- Mix dental materials (e.g., fillings, cements).
- Take and develop dental X-rays (if certified).
- Prepare patients for treatments or procedures by seating them and covering them with a bib.
Patient Care and Education:
- Greet and seat patients, making them feel comfortable and at ease.
- Explain post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
- Provide oral hygiene instructions and demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques.
- Answer patient questions about dental procedures, oral health, and appointment scheduling.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
Clinic Maintenance:
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of treatment rooms and common areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on dental equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Intermediate level education with a diploma in Dental Assistance.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in preparing treatment rooms and providing instrumentation.
- Experience with radiographic imaging and patient education.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols.
- Skills in maintaining dental equipment and managing inventory.
Duty Hours: 11:00AM - 09:00PM
