Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation to deliver high-quality dental services in a professional environment.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards
- Take and digital X-rays, including 3D scans, Intra-Oral scans and ensuring proper safety protocols are followed
- Record vital signs and medical history accurately using EMR systems Open Dental.
- Manage patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and confidentiality
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices
- Perform Coronal Polishing and sealants.
- Perform chairside assisting with proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of medical terminology and dental assisting procedures
- Proficiency in EMR systems including Open Dental
- Familiarity with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, 3D scanners, and infection control standards
- Coronal Polishing and Sealants Certification is required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper medical documentation practices
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with skills in four-handed dentistry and vital signs measurement
- Understanding of pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures is preferred
- Certification in X-ray safety or radiography is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
