Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by providing chairside support and maintaining a sterile environment in every aspects of dentistry such as fillings, crown, endo, surgery and ortho.
- Prepare patients for dental procedures by explaining treatment plans and ensuring their comfort.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups as a dental receptionist.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as practice web, open dental.
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow during procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout the clinic.
- Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing specialized care for younger patients.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as practice web, open dental.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
- Familiarity with medical documentation, medical records management, and medical coding.
- Ability to operate a 3D scanner for advanced imaging techniques.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure clinic efficiency.
