Dental Assistant

We are a private general dental office located in Ellicott City MD. We are looking for a well-rounded dental assistant to join our team. The position will be part-time Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Must have an active Maryland State dental radiology license. Experience in digital charting using Dentrix software is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time Salary: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday 7-4
• Wednesday 9-6
• Friday 7-12

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ellicott City, MD 21042 : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Dental assisting: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• X-Ray Certification (Required)

Work Location: In person

Duties:

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain patient records
- Perform dental charting and documentation using electronic medical records (Epic)
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes

Skills:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficient in using CAD software for dental prosthetics design
- Knowledge of medical coding practices and procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation
- Ability to perform patient assessments and provide appropriate care

Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic is preferred.
