Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, infection control, and patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, delivering exceptional patient experiences, and supporting our dental professionals in providing comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining accurate medical imaging records.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and documenting treatment details accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or special care considerations.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation within the practice.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in dental assisting procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care.
- Experience with 3D scanners or other advanced dental imaging technology is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach toward pediatric patients and their families.
- Certification in radiography or equivalent training preferred; additional certifications in infection control or pediatric dentistry are advantageous. Pay: $25.07 - $34.55 per hour
