Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging equipment to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to ensure safety during procedures; document all medical information meticulously.
- Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft; experience with Carestack is a plus.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are advantageous. Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
