Up to $2000.00 sign on bonus. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties include:
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information as needed.
- Perform medical imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Take and record vital signs of patients prior to treatment.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow within the office.
- Assist with administrative tasks as necessary, including using Open Dental software.
- Support specialized procedures in areas such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is required; however, candidates with relevant training or certifications will also be considered.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and infection control practices is essential.
- Knowledge of dental coding is beneficial but not required.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Open Dental.
- A strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
