Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
- Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, root canals, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures.
- Support patients by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring their comfort throughout visits.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards and sterilization procedures.
- Assist with medical imaging techniques and take vital signs to monitor patient health before procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely.
- Certification or training in chairside assisting; CPR certification is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members across specialties like prosthodontics and endodontics.
