Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is professional, organized and passionate about providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced dental office.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, dental surgery, prosthodontics, and providing chairside support with precision.
- Take and process dental X-rays.
- Manage patient records electronically using Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
- Sterilize and organize instruments and treatment rooms.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and explain dental terminology clearly to ensure understanding.
- Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment in accordance with OSHA standards.
Skills
- Dental assistant experience preferred.
- Experience with dental imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and general X-ray procedures.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their families, demonstrating patience and empathy.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure safety for both staff and patients.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements related to medical records and patient privacy.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
