Dental Assistant

Job Overview:

We are looking for a energetic, reliable, friendly Dental Assistant to join our team. Must be X-ray certified or in the process of getting certified. As a Dental Assistant, you will work alongside our dentist. Our dedicated team is committed to providing exceptional care, and we believe in creating a workplace where both patients and staff feel valued.

We have 2 locations that you would travel between with set hours for both locations. One is in Rosslyn Farms and the other is off of McKnight Road.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist dentists and hygienists during dental procedures, providing necessary instruments and materials
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring models and trimming plaster casts
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medical histories
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms following established protocols
- Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in using dental software. We currently use Curve software.
- Familiarity with taking vital signs and maintaining patient records
- Experience with digital radiography and operating x-ray equipment
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
