Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments with precision and professionalism.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage dental records efficiently using the EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology confidently, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices for optimal patient comfort.
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or pediatric cases to ensure safety throughout treatment.
- Support administrative tasks including greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records with attention to detail.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in dental assisting techniques.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while following safety standards for patients and staff.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, restorative dentistry principles, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Experience with dental coding and managing medical records within dental or healthcare settings.
